Get rid of your reading glasses with VIZZ!
VIZZ is a new FDA-approved eye drop that helps adults with presbyopia see up close without reading glasses—learn how it works and if it’s right for you.
As we celebrate more birthdays (usually around 40 or so), our eye focusing muscles weaken, causing difficulty when looking at small objects, such as paperwork, cell phones, and even computers. This condition is known as Presbyopia, and this happens to everyone, regardless if you ever needed glasses as a child.
Traditionally, the fix for that issue are reading glasses, bifocals, or even bifocal contact lenses. Now there is a new FDA approved eye drop that can do the same thing!

What Is VIZZ?
VIZZ® (aceclidine ophthalmic solution 1.44%) is the first aceclidine-based prescription eye drop in the U.S., now available to help adult presbyopia patients improve near vision without resorting to readers or multifocal lenses.
VIZZ is a once-daily eyedrop, utilizing a unique miotic mechanism to gently constrict the pupil. This creates a "pinhole effect," increasing depth of focus for clearer near vision—without impacting distance vision. This is a similar mechanism to “squinting” your eyes.
The effects work in as little as 30 minutes, and can provide up to 10 hours of clearer near vision!
Safety & Side Effects
VIZZ was well-tolerated in clinical trials, with no serious treatment-related adverse events reported over more than 30,000 treatment days. Common side effects (mild and transient) included:
- Mild eye irritation at the site (20%)
- Temporary dim vision (16%)
- Headache (13%)
